RCC Doctrinal Affirmations

The following is not a complete statement of faith, but rather a list of key affirmations that are central to historically orthodox Christian faith. These tenets are increasingly cast aside by both society and even many churches. By declaring these to be unchangeable biblical truth, we consciously mark ourselves as holding firmly and joyfully to scriptural authority amidst a culture of widespread relativism. We therefore affirm:

• the Triune nature of the one and only God, eternally existent as three-in-one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
• the nature of the Son of God in Jesus Christ as both fully God and fully human, His physical death and resurrection, and the fact of His incarnation (God become human) forever
• the Bible to be Christ's divinely inspired and infallible word and supreme revelation, wholly true, in harmony with the Holy Spirit, and authoritative for all matters of faith and life
• the ultimate sovereignty and omniscience of God over His universe, including all the affairs of humankind
• the sinful nature of every human and our inability to earn salvation or favor with God by any merit of our own
• the literal existence of heaven and hell; heaven as the eternal fellowship of the believer with God, hell as the eternal separation of the unbeliever from God
• the only means of salvation to be, through God's grace, a living and active belief in Jesus Christ and the acceptance of His atoning death on the cross for one's sin
• the presence and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit within every believer
